Air smells HORRIBLE... cabin filter?

When I turn the air on after rain, or on a mild day, it smells like my cat took a **** in the air system. is there a cabin filter that needs to be replaced? know where I can get one? thanks.

Hey Chris, probably to do with your air con system
How often do you use it? If its not used for long periods, bacteria build up in the system and it can smell like rotten eggs, cabbages etc
That may be your problem!

Took 10 mins and the onlyeffort you need to be able to use it is being able to depress a nozzle which then locks into place.

Cool....good info thanks Buck. I got mine done "properly" at the dealer..........cost a small fortune though.

Mine was done "properly" on my drive (its all the same stuff..kills the bacteria)..cost less than a tenner

Thats why I said " properly " as I'm pretty sure its the same product with about 200% added on to the cost passed on to us.

guys, thanks for the input and commentary on your farting experiences. the smell actaully goes away when I turn the AC on. is only smells when it's just the air blowing through the system. cold or hot. I'll give that remedy a shot though. anyone know where to purchase a new pollen filter?

just to be the technical critic, any car that has the AUTO feature on the recirculation, (that pic in the website show a Volvo)needs to be in Manual mode to force the system to recirculation.
In auto mode the system tries to keep as much fresh air coming in as possible and minimises recirculation.
So if you follow the instructions and look atthe pic the product may not work.

Is there a cabin filter in the car or not? I still have never seen an answer to the questions posted on here about them and nobody has a replacement filter that i've been able to find?
