Need new Engine
Bought my 1999 XJ8 in 2002 with 21K miles. Now has 79K. Now needs new engine! I am new to the nikalsil(sp) problem but my car has it. Can anyone advise me of sites and threads that address this issue? Does Jaguar take any responsibility for replacing these engines? My dealer is useless on this issue.
Secondly, on two occasions when we first bought the car, I drove it a short distance form the driveway into the garage. It would never start again - towed it to the dealership for repair. Dealer blamed me and past owner never had a problem with this car. Now I find that this is a common problem. Is this problem related to the nikalsil problem?

Jaguar will take no responsibility with the nikosil issue. They only did when when cars were under factory warranty.
You are going to have to buy a remanufactured engine.
The no start issue might have to do with your throttle body.
