View Full Version : 2002 X-Type "Security Failed" Message

:( My battery died on my 2002 x-type. I tried to jump start it but it still doesn't want to kick over. I can just go and get another battery but I have the message "Security Failed" and i'm not sure if that is what is stopping me jump start the car or If I need to re-set something to get rid of that message. Any suggestions.

Thanks,

Lindsay

You need to put back what ever you took out. It happened to me when i swapped out the dash. Or take it to Jag dealer so they can re-set the computer via their scanner...

YOU HAVE TRIPPED THE SECURITY SYSTEM AND YOUR RIDE IS NOW IN IMOBILIZATION MODE YOU HAVE TO GET IT TO A DEALER TO GET THEM TO RESET IT.

Does anyone know what the dealer uses to reset the computer? name brand? Part number?? Can it be bought ??
