Hey all, just purchased a 2004 X type Quartz with Ivory interior. so far absolutely love the car. I was glad I stumbled onto this forum. There aren't too many out there for Jag owners, seems like every other car though. Hope this turns out well, could be a useful resource.

x types are awesome. they are like a smaller version of the land rover freelander. (in fact they are almost the same). same powerplant and drivetrain, suspension, etc. jag has a little more hp though. last year you could get a freelander with the 3.0 or the 2.5, now you can only get the freelander with a 2.5 i think.

The x-type only shares the same transmission as the Freelander. The engine, suspension etc.
are completely different.

well of course the suspension would be different, freelander is an suv whereas the jag is a car. the engine is the same, the difference is stuff like a different intake. same block
