View Full Version : Rain leak on the passanger side

I am glad that I found this forum and hope that it is a wealth of information. I just purchased an X-type with 17,000 miles and the 3.0L Automatic. I am on the Oregon coast and have to deal with a lot of rain. The other morning I noticed that the front passanger side carpet was wet after a lot of rain the night previous. I checked if the front window was up all the way and if the there was any debris by the windshield under the hood. I made an appointment at the Portland Jaguar dealer, but it is not for another two weeks. I am worried about mold and was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what was the fix.

Thanks!!

No, no problems with water soaked carpet here. You may want to check your door seal and if that is ok, check the seal around the windshield..... use your garden hose and hold it over the door and or window....you should see where it is soming from....

Thanks racerx82 for your reply. I checked all of the seals and everything seems to be in order. I posted on Jaglovers forum and Gnomeface suggested that it might be the pollen filter. I vacuumed out the water and am hoping that we have a reprive from the rain. There is no sign of mold yet and I will vacuum out the rain until my scheduled appointment at the Jaguar hospital in two weeks. I guess it is just like nursing a sick kitty cat. Have a good New Year!!!
