So how many have had the center armrest, sun visor, and defroster vent plug replaced? I am told these are very common repairs.

I had mine replaced oh let me count the zero times. Jag is 6 months old and no problems.....knock on wood!

I've had the car for 4 years and just last month the defroster vents went POP. Gonna get it fixed next service. Other than that I had to get the driver door lock fixed just one day after i got the car cause it wouldn't open sometimes from inside. Apparently this was a common problem on the first batch of x-types.

Wow, 4 years and that's all?? goes to show ya, you take care of her and she'll take care of you...

YOU GUYS ARE LUCKY THE X-TYPE IS MORE IN WARANTY COSTS PER CAR FOR JAG THEN THE S-TYPE XK8 AND XJ8 COMBINED. JAG IS PLANNING ON SCRAPPING THE X IN THE 2008 MODEL YEAR.

Last post you said they are scrapping it in 07, now 08....what gives. BTW, How disgruntled are you and when do you plan on going postal?

jag is waiting 'till they get all the bugs worked out of the new s-type (supposedly with an awd option) and that is anywere from 13-36 months away. and dude i lost my last marble years ago. i dont mean to keep bashing the x-type i actualy like the look of the new sport model with the skirts and rims and stuff.BUT and a BIG BUT i dont think the car meets the jag level of fit and finish.just my random babelings.

Yeah, I suppose you're right on that and I guess your babbling has some meaning behind it.

Last week got into a minor accident (least I thought it was). There was about 4 inches of snow on the ground and I lost control, was doing bout 30 mph and after 3 - 360's avoiding on-coming traffic, a tree, 10 foot ditch and a house, playing with the gas and brake has no effect on ice. Ended up hitting a curb with my right rear rim/tire. No flat or rim damage and I thought I was ok.....took it to the dealer just to be safe since I did notice the steering was off just a hair, but she drove true and no pulling. After they looked at it and presented me the bill, I was like.....you sure you looked at the right Jag???!! 3k in damages. Upper control arm assy, hub, lower assembly 4 wheel alignment and they say no damage to the rim at all, not even a scuff mark.....wow! Glad the insurance got the tab on that one!

So, lesson learned....all wheel drive = BAM! = $$ :-)

Pocket book took a hit but man I gotta tell ya she rides soo nice.......just watch the snow and ice.....don't get too cocky...

Go ahead say it...get it over with...lol

No, i didn't glue my vents down. I opened the window while driving and chucked them out, now i don't have that problem of them falling out.

Just kidding....mine are good.....i drive an 05 so hopefully they fixed that little problem prior to building my baby...
