engine revs too high at start

Oh boy....check the gas pedal, the intake manifold, the line from the pedal to the intake.

Well, the pedal SHOULD NOT move, and I said to check the pedal, because if it's pressed down, then obviously this would happen! As for vacuum leaks, usually it would cause for the car to not accelerate, not to over-accelerate! If the pedal moves, maybe it's a transformer car! HAHAHA!

Also, check the throttle body linkage. Sounds to my like somethings in a bind and caught wide open. I don't think an electrical problem would give you this.

either throttlle set to high ... or bad throttle body ,usual.
