Beep/Hoot noise
2008 XJ8 VDP. For a couple of months I have heard at some point on most every drive a Beeping/Hooting sound coming from the rear of the car. It's best heard at low speeds and it will continue to make the noise every 3 seconds or so until you come to a stop where it will beep once or twice again but then won't start again until the car has been moving (it does not sound like a reverse sensor). So, I was due an oil change and finally brought it to the Jag dealer this am. The service manager and a technician rode with me so that they I could point out the noise and, of course, after 30 minutes of driving it was totally silent. They agreed to take it back out after the oil change. Any thoughts out there? About a couple of months ago I did get a "vehicle too low" warning at about the time this started, but the message hasn't appeared again. I know the compressor is in the front of the car, but is there an air bladder in the rear that could be making this noise. I'd like to go back tonight with some suggestions. Thanks!
Update: Dealer couldn't replicate the noise. My service tech drove the car home last night and into the Jag dealership this morning and he never heard it. I picked up the car and after driving 20 minutes it reappeared. Others riding in my car can hear it, so I'm not crazy. Any ideas? Could in be a fuel pump noise (is the fuel pump in the tank of this car?) or something in the air suspension. Any ideas?
