I hope you know that the cables aren't there to just hook it up. It's quite a bit of work and if you want to do it at the dealer, they charge like $5000 to fit it.

Yeah I looked into it earlier when you can get a factory nav for like 3-400 but the wiring and all that is several g's...that was when I changed my tune as far as the gps goes!

I think someone said that you can get the wires elswhere. I also heard that you can simply get an aftermarket unit and get that to work too.

Getting an aftermarket unit wouldn't be the hard part...the hard part would be getting the factory navigation to work in a non-factory navigation vehicle. I bet the worse part is rewiring the heating and cooling system into the navigation unit considering the a/c goes throught the touchscreen...

As far as getting the factory nav to work, I think there's another thread up that someone had done. You have to use wiring from an 86+ ford to line the cables on the aftermarket navi to the stock radio harness. I'll have to look it up later to give you the exact link if you guys need it.

As far as the heating and cooling is concerned, on a non-factory nav the adjustors aren't touch screen. So for anyone looking to get an aftermarket nav unit (like myself), you won't use the nav unit for adjusting the heat settings. Take a look at this photo if what I'm saying doesn't make sense. Note the knobs etc. are ABOVE the headunit. (photo comes from another member's thread- thread link below if you want to take a look at it).
