I have a 2001 X-type V6 Sport Auto, i have a problem when sitting in the drivers seat it squeaks and the passenger seat has a slight rocking problem, can anyone advise waht to do to rectify the problem.

Also early morning there as I drive off there seems to be a high pitched whining sound coming from the rear wheel/wheels as a press the accelerator it gets louder and the pitch gets higher, this only last for a bout a minute, but I am worried, any ideas.

if you let the car sit and warm up, does it still do it? does it change when the brakes are applied?

It does still do it, even if I wait for the car to warm up, however it makes no difference when the brakes are applied.

Could this be a driveshaft or bearings problem?

Sounds like it's your axle/bearing assembly. As for your seats, make sure all the mounting bolts are tight.
