Default changed fuel filter and now no start. Please Help!

I changed the fuel filter on our 2003 x-type 2.5 and now it won't start. It was having a hard time turning over to start with and I thought it may have been a clogged filter(needed changing anyway). So I went at it and got it installed. Now the engine will turn over but nto start. The instrument panel says dsc fault, and now it says no cruise available? Could this be the computer going crazy, or have I just flooded the engine. When I turn the key to ACC I hear noises in the engine bay that I've never heard before. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hites, I would do a fuel system check to make sure that you are getting sufficient pressure. It should read 40-50 psi with the ignition switch in RUN and the motor not running. That will eliminate the possibility of a bad filter or something that got into the fuel line and is now causing a blockage.

Having the DSC and cruise control issues, sounds like you are having problems with the throttle body. Did you do anything under the hood as you were replacing the fuel filter? If you accidentally bumped the plug on the throttle body, that could cause what you are seeing. That is just one example. May want to also consider simply disconnecting the battery from the car to reset the computer. Sometimes things get a little goofy and simply resetting the computer can straighten things out.

Let us know what you find and we'll go from there.
