Coolant Color -- which color is normal or does it matter??
Can somebody help me out regarding coolant color?
I noticed my Jag has the Orange looking coolant like the Mercedes Coolant.
My question is the following? which color is the normal coolant for Jaguar the orange or the regular green color coolant? Furthermore I need some coolant -- do i put in the regular green Prestone brand to top it off?
Or if i need to put in the orange color coolant -- if so where do i get it?
Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure what it is for other Jags, but I know that for the x-type the proper coolant is the orange stuff. I put a water pump on several weeks ago so I had to replace a good amount of it. It's a little pricey, but it's what the car requires. It's some kind of special extended life stuff.
It's a silicate free coolant . It gives you more extended drain periods over the green stuff . You should keep in mind that when changing your coolant you should use a distilled water if you use the orange coolant .
Ok great. thanks guys. I will stick with the orange stuff. I didn't realize there was a difference besides the obvious which is the color!
STick with the orange stuff. I buy the Prestone extended life which is the orange one, per the service manager at a local Jag dealer.
