Anyone's X-Type have the issue of the steering wheel whinning when turning it? It is a very slight sqeeking/whinning sound, but it is there. Just wanted to know if anyone had any ideas, of what it could be.
Thanks guys[sm=icon_cheers.gif]

spray some WD-40 around it...should help. It's normal on a car with some miles....
Take your car to the dealership. That noise is your rack. A rack seal is going bad. This repair should be covered under your warranty.
I have no warranty accept the Select Edition Certified used Jag one... I have a feeling that means nothing... any idea on what the stealership would charge for that?
The rack repair should be covered under the Select Warranty.
thanks for the info fabulous[sm=icon_cheers.gif]

in some cases, it may even be just a bad bushing...

If it's not the bushing, I have a brand new steering assyembly in the box from jag that i acquired. I'll sell cheap, 60 bucks, plus shipping... your savings of 2,100 dollars
I let you know racerX if I need the assembly - the Jag is going in next week
