Default new battery= more power?? stock 7yo better kicked the bucket

Well I guess bringing from sunny palm beach fl to -20degree ny killed the stock battery. The new one seems to make the car more responsive and quicker. Is that possible? The car turns over fast as lightening now and it seems much quicker and responsive driving it around. Am I imagining things?

Of course its possible, if any electrical components were not being supplied with the proper voltage then they were not operating at their full potential, same goes for ground wires. As far as it turning over faster, the new battery might have higher cold cranking amps.

The stock batt is 640cca and the new one is like 730cca, so that's why it turns faster. And I'm talking hyper-drive fast lol. But wouldn't the alternator supply enough power? How does a weak batt make the car slower if the alt pumps all the juice? Also if the perf of the car is this much more noticeable, I would think mileage will increase right?

I'm not thinking a new battery is going to help trim your zero to sixty time. What you may have is a little better breathing in the much colder air.

I've been in NY now for some time. Throttle response and off the line acceleration is NOTICEABLY different. If I drive now like how I did before I swapped the battery you'd think I was hot rodding it. I have to go even easier on the pedal now in order to not rip around town.

A weak battery doesn't supply enough voltage and the alt doesn't pump out enough juice to power all the components correctly. That's been my experience with my mazda's.
