Hey guys, new owner here, always been a fan of jag so i picked one up. 02 jag x type 3.0 (5 speed)
anyways, havnt had any problems, but then one day my sunroof started acting wierd.

I used to just hit the back button and it automatically went back and if you hit the forward button it automatically went forward. and that was all it did.

Now, you hit the back button nothing happens, but if you hold in the forward button, the sunroof pops up. and if you hold the forward button in, it will go back, you hold the forward button in again, then it will close, but not automatically.

As i have no owners manual, i dont know whats goin on,

can anyone help?

Sounds like you need to reset the one touch button function. To do this, start car, lower drivers window. When window is lowered, raise and hold the button for approx 5 secs after the window has fully closed. This should return all your button functions back to what it was...

Not a problem

Hello All! New member to this forum!!! I have the same problem with sunroof!!!! But cant do a reset.

1. Tried lowering and raising driver's window and hold the button while engine ON... nothing happened.
2. Tried Postion 2,hold2 windowsbuttons for 5-8 secs and then lock/unlock twice on remote and nothing happened.
3. Tried turning key in the door clock wise for 5 secand again.. nothing...

Will the car indicate that something was reset? any other suggestions? Thanks in advance

I think racer is drunk again.. I dont think resetting the windows has anything to do with the roof.

i have to reset my window toll feature whenever I disconnect the battery. But the sunroof works everytime without resetting.

I suspect there is a learning feature for the sunroof.. but I dont know what it is.

I tried installingnew overhead console (the one with garage opener buttons) but problem this remains.. i am thinking computer problems...

the 02 doesn't have this feature for the auto sunroof. Sorry

My 'O2 has auto close..and it is an early one..
actually Racer. i dont know what you are referring to ..
are you saying on later models that you can program the sunroof by using the window switches?

Yeah my 02 has the auto shut and auto open if thats what you are talking about racer...

I think Racer was talking about one button reset feature on 02 models... if so, then i think i am stuck with one-way sunroof button. http://www.jaguarforums.com/micons/m14.gif
