Hi,

I am planning to buy X-type in the near future, so My questions is what year should I stay away with.
I check few threads before posting, and see that there seems to be a lot problems with 02s.

So, I was thinking about 03s, are there a lot problems with 03, and if so does the warrenty cover them.
And do you suggest of getting extra 3 years extended warrenty.

at what year does it start to have traction4, is it 03 or 04??

I would get the 03, if those are your choices. The 03 has the all wheel drive and plenty of power, providing you get the 3L
As for problems......haven't had any with mine yet.....

Both the 02 and 03 had recalls and all the problems were covered under factory warranty, so whatever year you get, you should be good to go....

As for the extended warranty...I personally stay away from them...you must read the fine print and it doesn't cover what you think it covers.....
