Hi All,

I am new here, and need some info for my X-Type.

My car's steering wheel comes w/o audio & phone control. The car also has no phone function despite having the phone buttons on the HU.

How do I get the phone to work?
If I install a steering wheel with audio & phone control, what else do I need to get it to work?

You need to have a blue tooth cell phone to make it work in the car.....or, a hard wired cell phone installed in the car.

The phone button on the hud will only work if you have one of the two.

slcikjag, i would check with an aftermarket stereo shop, they can fix you up with the stuff you need.

when working at a dealership, we woudl have people with CRAZY requests...like a 27" flat screen tv put in the roof of a minivan...with the controls on the steering wheel..it may not be cheap, but with enough green, anything is "do-able"

look on their website for any contact number..when you get ahold of them, ask for the right department and have them transfer you
