View Full Version : 2002 X-Type Washer Jet Replacement
carlton989 09-27-2008, 10:15 PM I recently ordered a new set of washer jets for my 02 X-Type, the ones mounted on the hood or "bonnet", and am wondering if there is any trick to removing the old ones and installing the old ones. I am going to pick them up at the dealership on Tuesday, just wanting to figure everything out before I try to install them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Will
JagXV6 09-28-2008, 11:49 AM The windshiled (screen) washer jets or the headlamp washer jets???
What exactly is wrong with them?
carlton989 09-28-2008, 12:07 PM the ones for the windshield. the nozzles are broken where the rubber hose meets the plastic piece under the hood. the previous owner tried to fix them with electrical tape, to no avail. they don't spray and just dribble on my hood when i try to wash the windshield. just trying to figure out how to replace them.
BuckMR2 09-29-2008, 12:24 PM Havent replaced mine but lookfor clips on the new ones and work it out from there in reverse?
[Edited...misspeltt sum off thee wurds]
BRUTAL 09-29-2008, 12:40 PM YOU TAKE A SMALL STANDARD SCREW DRIVER AND PUSH IN THE THE ENGINE SIDE OF THE HOOD ON THE TAB, AND THEY POP RIGHT OUT. WHEN YOU GET THE NEW ONES IN YOUR HAND YOULL SEE WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT AND POICK UP A INLINE 1 WAY CK VALVE TOO AS THESE BREAK OFF TOO.THE BIGGER FUN IS GETTING THE LITTLE PIECES OF BROKEN PLASTIC TUBING OUT OF THE HOSE, USE A PIC!
christo 09-29-2008, 02:31 PM Brutal is absolutley right! I just went thru this, the plastic must get very brittle with age and the heat. My clips on the old one actually broke off and the jet just fell out. Just becareful not to damage your hood. But as Brutal said, you will see how they come off by looking at the new clips. The parts in the hose, be carefule getting them out - I actually broke part of the hose and no wit is just long enough to make things work. I will replace it when I get out to the autoparts store again. Good luck!
morales8416 09-30-2008, 07:38 AM funny my washers broke yesterday on my 2002 3.0 thanks for the post guys
queenmb 09-30-2008, 09:27 PM Mine were broken when I bought my Jag 2 1/2 months ago. I was trying to figure out how to fix them, but I guess Ill have to break down and buy new ones from the stealership.
racerx82 09-30-2008, 09:29 PM has anybody tried "cleaning" them???? They just might be clogged.....
queenmb 09-30-2008, 09:35 PM BROKEN. Hose has one jagged piece of plastic in it, while the opposite matching piece of jagged plastic is still on bonnet(hood). Was thinking about super-gluing it.
racerx82 09-30-2008, 09:39 PM ooops, missed the BROKEN bit, it must have been followed by too many other words i didn't read. chose to drink and skip every other word.
Glue won't work. But you can have fun trying.

solidx 08-12-2009, 08:28 AM I just found one of the jets is not working - There is a L shaped rubber piece that connects the jet with the tube under the hood - The part of the jet under the hood is broken and part of it is inside the L shape rubber piece on both ends. I checked the JTIS and those parts dont seem to be listed there. Anybody knows what the part number for the Jets is? Also, what does it include when you order?
solidx 08-12-2009, 08:53 AM Ok found the replacement part - Nozzle Part#: W0133-1657781
But there is a small piece that connects the L shape rubber to the hose - that broke also like the nozzle part - Dont seem to find that anywhere.
