I am looking at a '97 XK8 which just had the automatic transmission rebuilt by AAMCO to the tune of about $4,500. Any fedback on their rebuild quality and to whether the warranty is transferrable to a new owner?
Thanks,

They rebuilt the tranny in my 1998 XJ8 Vanden Plas. It's been about 5 months and it is working fine. It has a two year warranty. As for transferring to the new owner, you could call the AAMCO shop that did the work and ask them. Or call another AAMCO and ask.
They are one of the more reliable transmission repair places. Also, if you do have a warranty and you break down, they are all over the place so you shouldn't have a problem finding one even if you are out of town.
