The spots on the trunk are snow and ice residue. It's offical I'm a sadist and love the abuse heaped on me by British Engineers....

Nice Jaguar
One note , you should have put a 7" leaper .Most XJ40 Owners use Series III leapers on their XJ40s though .

Cool, and you have four headlights....so much better looking than the big squared headlights!

Cheers

Congratulations.

I remember whn I first brought my baby home, I was starring at it in the garage because I couldn't drive it until I had insurance.

I think we've all gone to the garage to look at our Jags.

Its only when you start making motor noises with your lips that you have to start worrying

Also, if you park your car and don't look back at it as you walk away, you bought the wrong car !

Cheers

haha - very true and I don't think I have made those motor sounds. At least not while I was sober.

Not only did I look back but I even went back out to visit it last night and again this morning

I'll keep getting the 7" leaper in mind. First things first fix a few minor problems. Put a new radio in it so I can play cd's instead of cassettes. Of course full tune up, fluid change and wash/wax.

Congrats! Don't hurt your neck doing the "Jag re-look" every time you walk away from her.

I've pulled a muscle already but, it'll be ok Did some basic clean up on it today and ordered the following:

1. All new belts
2. All new Hoses
3. Oil, Fuel, Air and Tranny filter
4. Dist cap and rotor
5. Spark plug wires
6. Spark plugs

Did I forget anything that you would do for a new to you Jag?

Forgot to ask is there a code reader for these?

I went and got her a new battery today, also replaced the burnt out license plate lights. Oh and cruised about 100 miles of the New Hampshire country side. I really like just driving this car

Well I ordered a new radio for the old girl as the stock Jag cassette deck is pretty sad, hopefully I'll find some help on my other thread for a wiring diagram of the stereo connections.

I also fixed the dead power mirrors and drivers side power window. The previous owner said his mechanic had diagnosed a dead window switch assembly in the door. I diagnosed a dead fuse in the left hand fuse box and replaced it, all is well now.

How many fuse panels does this Jag have I've found 3 so far.
