Default British Racing Green Metallic

While I wait for the order book to open up on the 2016 manual F Types, I took a swing down to Plano Jaguar, to pay a call on the ever delightful Mr. Paul Light.

He had a pre-owned British Racing Green 6 cylinder on the lot, and he let me check out the color, and snap a few photos.

Prior photos posted to the board made the car look black at times, and it was no different in person with this specific instance.

However, in full sun you can see it's actually a rather exotic green color, and standing next to it, it will show multiple complementary shades of green at the same time. Almost polychromatic.

Photos below.

It's still darker than I'd like, but I'll take it.

We have an Armada in Java Balck or soemthing, I swear the car was brown metallic when we bought it. It has never looked like that ever again. Anyone seeing our car will swear it is black until you are very close to the paint and see the actual metallic flakes in it. You will need a very bright day to make it sparkle, for most of the time and what people see when you drive by is an almsot balck car, for sure a very dark car.

A lot of those cars have been sitting for a while so don't be afraid to low-ball an offer

Actually, the car I am looking for has yet to be built (Manual Transimission) - so no offers to be rendered by myself.

I'll say I like the colour to stay vaguely on topic, but your user name intrigued me, are you an Orcadian? My dad was from Sandwick.

The dealer has to speak directly to their Jaguar rep who will secure a 6 speed allocation for them. Since the JLR ordering system has not yet been updated for the 6 speed option, the dealer will not have an opportunity to specify the order in the system as a 6 speed. That will be done when the order system is updated and before the last date of change. My dealer has been working with their JLR rep since November 22 to get the clearance to enter the order (which occurred on Tuesday).

Default E-Type BRG also dark

I had remembered The E-Type BRG as being much lighter (brighter) than that of the F-Type. I had the opportunity to attend a Cars & Coffee in Montecito last weekend and came across the E-Type below. My memory obviously failed me. It too requires direct sunlight to "pop".
