Question I need help deciding between these two cars please...

Thinking about buying this car: http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...5&aff=national or this car: http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...5&aff=national
Anyone know anything about them? My wife LOVES them but I don't know how expensive they are to repair or maintain. Thanks in advance.

Links work for me... But from the links provided above it looks like the 2004 is a 3.0 and the 2003 is a 2.5.

Also, wasn't all the TC issues on the 2002-2003 models? Weren't they sorted out on the 2004+ models?

And repair and maintenance isn't the cheapest thing in the world nor is it super expensive... You have to pay to play... and sometimes playing with jaguars can cause you to pay more than play... Thank god I haven't experienced anything too serious on my Jaguar.. 2005 X-type 3.0 with 57k miles to date... love it to death... It's a love hate type of thing for some people, mines been love for the past 2 years.

lol that sounded soo queer.

umm nitro.. have you checked the carfax's for both vehicles? They are for free on the links you supplied... It seems like the 2004 has had two previous owners, one in Florida, and one in Tennessee. No accident.

The 2003 has had three previous owners, first owner in Michigan, and the other two in Indiana... So rust is probably an issue since it has seen every winter season since manufactured. Also, the 2nd owner was involved in an accident and the 1st owner had its thermostat changed only at 13k miles

Here are quotes from the carfax:
Accident reported
Involving right rear impact
with another motor vehicle
Damage reported to:
Rear of vehicle

It's starting to look like the 2004 should be your best move... CHECK THE FREE CARFAX'S!!!

my best friend has a 2002 2.5 with 198,000 miles on it. it's the most amazing thing i've ever seen, no rust [a lotttt of scratches..lol] and it drives tight as ever, the seats are even still beautiful. it completely turned me on to Jaguar

Looks like only the 2.5 is available still. However, if it were me I'd only buy a car with 50k plus miles only if it were certified by jaguar.
