Formula E 2020

London to host a climactic double-header race to finish off the championship.

Since its inaugural season during the year of 2014, Formula E has been picking up the pace between both manufactures and racing enthusiasts. During the first year, there was only one factory team (Audi) participating during the regular season. For the 2019-20 season, expect there to be Audi, Jaguar, Nissan, BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche all participating with factory teams. That’s a hell of an improvement over only a couple of years.

However, Jaguar home team fans have something else to rave about other than good competition: the return of Formula E to London. According to Jaguar Panasonic, the upcoming race has a new venue in London: the ExCeL. The season’s final back-to-back races will be hosted over the weekend of July 25 and 26, 2020. London will be the host of the conclusion of the season with Rounds 14 and 15.

During the 2015 and 2016 season, Formula raced in the U.K. capital at a venue by the name of Battersea Park. However, this upcoming year will host a new venue that is completely novel in its design. It will be the first of its kind in hosting an indoor and outdoor track layout. The circuit will run clockwise around Royal Victoria Dock and will consist of 23 corners. Considering the race track will allow drivers to get a look at the river Thames as they head toward the start/finish straight, we think its going to be a properly world-class circuit.

Considering that Jaguar Land Rover is the U.K.’s largest automotive manufacturer and has participated in the series since 2016, it holds a strong presence in the sport. This venue will truly show the ability for the team and brand to show its hundreds of thousands of fans what they are made of. The 2019-20 season will definitely be one to remember, considering the fact that nine different OEM manufactures will be participating in the series. This is the largest amount of auto brands participating in a single international motorsport series currently.
