Vintage Jaguar Mother Lode Found in U.K. Greenhouse
When a garage was called to clean out a fleet of cars, they had no idea about the Jaguar paradise hidden inside.
Beaulieu Garage in England just made quite a discovery. They were contacted to assist in removing a neglected car collection. When they arrived at the greenhouse that housed the vehicles, they found about 30 vintage Jaguars. Now that is a damned impressive barn find!
As it happens, Beaulieu Garage is the perfect crew for the Jaguar job. For the past 100 years, they have repaired, restored, and sold some of Britain’s finest sports cars. They know their Jaguars.
The collection includes over 30 vintage Jaguars, most of which are E-Types. It appears that the fleet had remained untouched for years.
Removing the tarps, they discovered a truly stunning collection of rare and vintage Jaguars. In the end, they found a remarkable and sizeable collection. And it was theirs if they wanted it.
Obviously, they didn’t hesitate to make an offer for the lot.
Beaulieu posted their treasure on Facebook, adding, “Need to work out what to do with a whole lot of rusty metal. Anyone fancy a project?!”
The Jaguars vary in condition, and many will definitely require some serious TLC. On the plus side, the collection was dry stored for the last 8 years.
“We have spent this week recovering these cars and they are now at our storage facility,” they write. “Condition-wise there’s a few you could probably get running in a couple of days, but most are more long term projects.”
But the potential is there to custom build or restore a classic Jaguar. And we are certainly tempted.
The team has gotten to work organizing and cataloging the collection. Thankfully, they discovered logbooks and documentation included for most of the Jags. And now, they already have one up for sale.
1960 Jaguar Jaguar XK150
First up for sale is a cream 1960 Jaguar XK 150. Numbers for the drophead coupé (DHC) indicate it was originally from New York. It includes a heritage certificate, as well as its original U.S. title from Ohio.
Produced from 1957 to 1961, the XK150 is utterly elegant, a timeless and curvaceous sports car–no matter what state it is in. A red interior and sand soft top perfectly complement to the exterior.
Okay. It’s going to need a little buffing out.
Powered by a 3.8-liter engine, it might just be the dream car for a Jaguar fan looking for an affordable project car.
We just love a good barn find. It is a unique thrill to step back in time, experience a true classic car untouched. We’re sure Beaulieu will restore a few to exceptional condition. We will check back in on their progress, and keep you posted.
