Jaguar Modifications So Bad They Cannot Be Unseen

Jacked Jaguar

We don’t know whether to laugh or cry at these modded Jaguars (and Faux-uars.)

Some vehicles really lend themselves to upgrades and modifications. Well-executed modifications allow drivers to personalize their ride while enhancing performance and versatility. Now, “mods” really can cover a whole range of options on the menu: from a paint job, to extensive bodywork. It is a wide spectrum. So we’re focusing on those more extreme changes.

Sure, we are biased, but we tend to be of the mind that Jaguars–especially classics–really don’t need any major changes. And we base a lot of that on those truly awful Jags that have fallen victim to bad mods.

Recently, we came across the top image of a once-beautiful Jaguar E-Type. Posted on Reddit by user HerbieOBF, who asked, “Jaguar Defender or Land Rover E-Type, you decide.” Now, without any reason we can understand, the owner decided to jack up an E-Type on a Defender chassis.

Zooming in…well, it just gets weirder. We really hope this was a kit car, and not a classic E-Type. Otherwise–oh no. Chopping a classic E-Type to fit a Defender? A travesty. And how could this possibly handle? Awful. Awful is the correct answer.

Also, is it just us or does this look like Jaguar Dune Buggy?

In conclusion, hard pass. Although, we’d love to hear the reasoning behind it!

Car spotter Rivibird saw this unusual ride at the Greenwich Concours d’Elegance in CT. The Jaguar XK8 has been through an odd transformation. This too was posted on Reddit. There’s a lot to unpack here. The first comment addressed our immediate source of grief. “That’s a bunch of yellow tape on the wheels isn’t it,” asked one user. “Yup. Either painter’s tape or yellow duct tape,” Rivibird replied. Racing livery by duct tape? O-kayyy.

Adding Ferrari color and Porsche badging on a modded Jaguar XK8? Personality crisis on wheels.

F-150 Jaguar

Speaking of split personalities, this pickup truck owner wanted a combo of an F-150 with a Jaguar fascia. The result is…unsettling. While this was executed quite well, it just seems cartoonish. If we had to guess, the owner was trying to add some Jag grace to a Ford truck. Defeating the purpose of both the Jaguar and the pickup. One Redditor noticed that it looks like a clown. Oh, tt really does. And yes, clowns freak us out. As does this mod!

At the end of the day, mod thoughtfully. But if you spot a Jag-trocity, send it our way!
