Jaguar F-Type 75

These will be the final Jaguar sports cars powered by an internal combustion engine. Pour one out.

At this point, we don’t know exactly what the future holds for Jaguar, but we know it we’ll never see something like the Jaguar F-Type 75 and F-Type R 75 ever again. These machines are the last of their kind. The end of the line. The swan song. These will be the final Jaguar sports cars powered by an internal combustion engine. So pour one out — because it’s been one hell of a run.

Notably, the 75 in the name of these final models represents the very first Jaguar sports car, the legendary XK120, which debuted three-quarters of a century ago. The Jaguar F-Type 75 and F-Type R 75 will be offered as both a coupe and convertible, and as the names suggest, with two different powertrains. The F-Type 75 will be packing a supercharged 5.0-liter V8  good for 450 horsepower, while the F-Type R 75 will be packing 575 ponies. An eight-speed automatic will be the sole transmission option.

Both versions of the cars will send power to all-four corners, though the F-Type R 75 will come standard with a rear-biased system which will be optional on the F-Type 75 edition. Under the skin, standard and R models get new upper ball joints, wheel bearings, and rear knuckles, which have been tweaked to provide better steering feel. As with other V8 examples of the F-Type, each get an electronic rear differential and adjustable suspensions.

From what I can tell, the biggest visual distinction between the two models will be the wheels. The F-Type 75 will get five-spoke units, while its hotter sibling with get ten-spoke versions. Of course, there will be other cosmetic touches, including an available Giola Green metallic paint finish, special fender badging, and a silhouette of the F-Type on the dash and sill plates. At this point, it’s unclear exactly what this final edition of the F-Type will cost, so stay tuned.
