Take a deep breath, because the headline figures for this 1959 Jagaur Mark IX project car are going to blow you away. Without further ado, here we go: this 1959 Jag Mark IX is a SEMA project car, commissioned by Mark Stevens, being built by Street Scene Automotive Restoration Company (SARCO). It features a 650 horsepower supercharged 6.2L small block Chevy V8 engine, from a C6-generation Corvette ZR1, known as the LS9. With widened body panels, this Jag will be running an 18×10″ rear wheel to hopefully cope with the traction issues presented by the LS9. The whole rear half of the chassis was redesigned courtesy of the classic car chassis gurus at Art Morrison, and strengthened to cope with the widening of the body, the grip that will be produced by the tires and the torque from the engine. If this seems nuts, wait, there’s more: this particular Mark IX is being converted for wheelchair access, with an electric lift and related switch gear, so that the owner of the car can drive it.

Everything about the build in bonkers, and we love it. Check out the video below to see the start of this amazing project:

He enjoys track days, drifting, and autocross, at least, when his cars are running right, which is uncommon.
