PSA: Don’t Use a Range Rover for Stunt Driving
Please leave the stunt driving to the professionals.
Alright, this should be obvious: don’t try stunt driving tricks on the public roads, especially on a busy neighborhood road. It’s all fun and games until you roll the Range Rover. Did we spoil the conclusion?
The Range Rover Sport Supercharged is a great truck. It’s fast, stylish and can be had for cheap on the secondhand market. Something the RR Sport also is, is tall. The center of gravity on the Range would make a Miata blush, or just pass out from anxiety. That high center of gravity means it’s not going to handle like a sports car, especially if you try to do a J-Turn.
And a J-Turn is exactly what this crazy Range Rover driver tried to do. A J-Turn is when you start in reverse, whip the car around in a “J-shaped” maneuver and then throw it into drive and roll away all cool. Credit to the agility of the Range, the driver almost made it. However, a pesky curb got in the way, lifting a wheel, and then the whole truck. Big air followed, as well as a full aileron roll, before the RR came to a halt, right-side up in someone’s front yard.
Obviously, the aftermarket stereo system exploding out of the rear glass is hilarious. Talk about adding insult to injury. Wonder if the driver left it there afterwards? The mark of shame.
