2003 Jaguar XKR Convertible Continues the Bargain Cycle

Jaguar XKR

Jaguar XKR is the undisputed bargain supercar of our time, and this one is a perfect example of that vicious cycle.

We often talk about the incredible bargain that is the Jaguar XKR around these parts. Which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it. For buyers, we’re simply reminding you of the virtually unmatched car-to-dollar ratio provided by these forgotten supercars.

For sellers, we’re trying to help you extract some sort of value out of your investment. But when we spot a Jaguar XKR as stunning and amazingly cheap as this one up for grabs in the Jaguar Forums Marketplace, it’s hard not to start reaching for our own wallets.

In fact, let’s play a little game. Where else can you find a car that packs so many luxury and technology features with a comfy chassis and slick retro bodywork for just a shade over $6k? And that isn’t even mentioning the fact that this thing also carries a 390 hp, 399 lb-ft supercharged 4.2-liter V8 under the hood. Go ahead, we’ll wait.

This one looks to be in pretty excellent condition as well. It has just over 100k miles, and no issues outside of a faulty brake light switch. There’s some fading on the hood louvers and convertible top. But nothing we’d care about while cruising around and listening to that delicious blown V8.

The seller has all the maintenance records on this Jaguar XKR, too. So we’re guessing it’s good to go for quite a few more of those enjoyable miles. It’s quite clear from the pictures provided that they’ve cared for it over the years, and we wouldn’t hesitate to jump on it.

Until (or if) the collector market wakes up and recognizes the Jaguar XKR for what it really is, these kinds of bargains will continue. It’s a viscous cycle, of course. But if you’re a buyer, you’ll never find a better time to land one of these gorgeous rides than now!
