5 Fastest Jaguars of All Time

Jaguar F-Type SVR

From rarities to models readily available in the showroom now, this Jaguar quintet is ready to hunt down all the speed in sight.

Jaguar has been about two things in its long history. The first, of course, is British luxury. The finest wood trim, the softest leather, the attention to detail. Why else would the Royal Family bestow their Royal Warrant upon the legendary automaker and its wares? If a Jaguar’s good enough for The Queen herself, it’s definitely good enough for all of us.

Unless you’re a fan of speed. Luckily, that’s the other thing Jaguar is known for. Some of the fastest cars in the world came out of Coventry over the decades, after all. Here are the five fastest production-model Jaguars ever made.

If you can’t find the SVR in any form, though, there’s a new cat in town to take its place (for now): the 2021 F-Type R. The same 5.0-liter V8 from the SVR is in the R, but its top speed is down to 186 mph no matter if you choose the coupe or cabriolet. Still the same power figures, still the same eight-speed auto, still all-wheel drive, but not as fast as the SVR. Maybe some tuning can open it up, though.

Cameron Aubernon's path to automotive journalism began in the early New '10s. Back then, a friend of hers thought she was an independent fashion blogger.

Aubernon wasn't, so she became one, covering fashion in her own way for the next few years.

From there, she's written for: Louisville.com/Louisville Magazine, Insider Louisville, The Voice-Tribune/The Voice, TOPS Louisville, Jeffersontown Magazine, Dispatches Europe, The Truth About Cars, Automotive News, Yahoo Autos, RideApart, Hagerty, and Street Trucks.

Aubernon also served as the editor-in-chief of a short-lived online society publication in Louisville, Kentucky, interned at the city's NPR affiliate, WFPL-FM, and was the de facto publicist-in-residence for a communal art space near the University of Louisville.

Aubernon is a member of the International Motor Press Association, and the Washington Automotive Press Association.
