Customized I-Pace Takes Its Place in Galpin Hall of Customs
Dressed up by Galpin Auto Sports, new I-Pace wears matte gray vinyl wrap, powder-coated carbon fiber wheels.
Do you know what time it is? If you said it’s turkey time, you’d be right, but also wrong; it’s too early for turkey. Nope! This week is the press days and first public days of the Los Angeles Auto Show at the Los Angeles Convention Center in, wherelse, Los Angeles. This annual extravaganza began for us on November 18, and will wrap-up November 21 before the public sees what we found November 22 through December 1.
Until then, we’ll give you the best Jaguar and Land Rover goodies we come upon, starting with a trip to the Galpin Hall of Customs. Here, we found a matte gray I-Pace ready to electrify our hearts.
The Galpin Hall of Customs is run by Galpin Auto Sports, the customization wing of the biggest dealership groups in the United States, Galpin Motors of Los Angeles.
GAS can do it all, from custom wraps and wheels, to full-on restomods, restorations, and coach building. They’ve worked on everything from the K.I.T.T. Mustang from the 2008 reboot of Knight Rider, to “Galpinized” customs you can buy off the lot right now.
The group has put their touches on a handful of cars from Galpin’s numerous dealerships, including this I-Pace from Galpin Jaguar. The custom touches include a matte gray vinyl wrap, and a set of 22-inch gloss black, powder-coated carbon fiber wheels wrapped within Pirelli tires.
Other than that, the I-Pace is relatively untouched. After all, there’s not much else anyone can do with the electric luxury crossover powerwise, aside from writing new software to boost the power and remove the 124-mph electronic limiter.
Then again, it’s hard to improve upon perfection. The I-Pace is, quite simply, the most beautiful, mass-produced electric vehicle on the road today.
While Tesla is content with carving bars of soap into their line of cars, Jaguar had to do better for their customers. The result is outstanding as always for a company who holds a Royal Warrant from the Queen herself. Long live Britannia, and long live Jaguar.
