Jaguar Forums member is looking for a new owner for his Firesand Metallic F-Type V8 S convertible.

Keeping a car you love takes more than just a healthy bank account. It takes patience, a willingness to adapt to its quirks, and a little technical know-how. It also requires space. Forum member Jst2gtby loves his 2014 Jaguar F-Type V8 S convertible, but as he puts it in his Jaguar Forums Marketplace listing, he no longer has “the room to keep her.”

However, Jst2gtby does have a good memory for the things that he’s done to his Firesand Metallic droptop…and the things that have happened to it over the course of its 40,428 miles.

We’ll start with the not-so-good things. Fortunately, there are only two.

Before Jst2gtby bought this car, it somehow got a scratch on one of its doors, which the owner at the time covered with touch-up paint. According to Jst2gtby, “I was rear ended about a year ago which caused VERY minor damage” to the back end. The license plate screws from the other car pushed against the F-Type’s rear bumper and cracked the paint. He had the repairs carried out by the same shop that does all of the body work for his go-to dealership, Rusnak/Pasadena Jaguar of Pasadena, California.

Now for the good stuff Jst2gtby has done to his fiery feline. In 2018, he installed an Ignis orange start button and matching shift paddles. Eight months ago, he covered the paint with a ceramic protectant. Every six months, he gives the F-Type‘s fabric top a coat of protective spray. Jst2gtby‘s Jag also has a fresh set of Falken Azenis FK510s “which changed the feel and control of the car immensely.”

Given how attractive Jst2gtby‘s F-Type is, he’s not in a rush to sell it. He’s waiting for an interested buyer who can give it a good home and is willing to pay his $45,500 asking price. If you fit that description, just make sure that that good home you want to give your potential next car has a garage with plenty of room in it.

Derek Shiekhi's father raised him on cars. As a boy, Derek accompanied his dad as he bought classics such as post-WWII GM trucks and early Ford Mustang convertibles.

After loving cars for years and getting a bachelor's degree in Business Management, Derek decided to get an associate degree in journalism. His networking put him in contact with the editor of the Austin-American Statesman newspaper, who hired him to write freelance about automotive culture and events in Austin, Texas in 2013. One particular story led to him getting a certificate for learning the foundations of road racing.

While watching TV with his parents one fateful evening, he saw a commercial that changed his life. In it, Jeep touted the Wrangler as the Texas Auto Writers Association's "SUV of Texas." Derek knew he had to join the organization if he was going to advance as an automotive writer. He joined the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) in 2014 and was fortunate to meet several nice people who connected him to the representatives of several automakers and the people who could give him access to press vehicles (the first one he ever got the keys to was a Lexus LX 570). He's now a regular at TAWA's two main events: the Texas Auto Roundup in the spring and the Texas Truck Rodeo in the fall.

Over the past several years, Derek has learned how to drive off-road in various four-wheel-drive SUVs (he even camped out for two nights in a Land Rover), and driven around various tracks in hot hatches, muscle cars, and exotics. Several of his pieces, including his article about the 2015 Ford F-150 being crowned TAWA's 2014 "Truck of Texas" and his review of the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider, have won awards in TAWA's annual Excellence in Craft Competition. Last year, his JK Forum profile of Wagonmaster, a business that restores Jeep Wagoneers, won prizes in TAWA’s signature writing contest and its pickup- and SUV-focused Texas Truck Invitational.

In addition to writing for a variety of Internet Brands sites, including JK Forum, H-D Forums, The Mustang Source, Mustang Forums, LS1Tech, HondaTech, Jaguar Forums, YotaTech, and Ford Truck Enthusiasts. Derek also started There Will Be Cars on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
