Get Your Car Show Fix with This Garage Full of Vintage Jaguars
Collector Scott Holley shares his favorite vintage Jaguars from his collection, including E-types & a very rare high-performance XK140 MC.
Jaguar recently teamed with Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) to create a new video series, highlighting vintage Jaguars and the collectors who car for them. In the first video, posted above, avid car collector and vintage racer, Scott Holley, welcomes viewers into his stunning garage to show off his collection. The idea behind this video series is to give car enthusiasts a virtual replacement for car shows and similar events.
The only downside to this short film is its shortness. It runs a scant 3 minutes and 22 seconds, but there’s still a lot to admire about Holley’s collection of vintage Jaguars. After zooming past his American Muscle Cars, Holley talks about the one that started it all: a 1969 Jaguar E-Type Roadster purchased from the original owner for Holley’s wife. The mileage? Only 29,000.
Next, Holley moves on to a black 1967 Jaguar E-Type, which he restored with a friend, before stopping at a stunning 1956 Jaguar XK140 MC. A Southern California barn find, Holley fully restored the car, which has since won several high-profile awards.
Moving on down the line, Holley also owns a 1960 Mark IX, aka The Queen’s Car. (This model was apparently Queen Elizabeth’s favorite car up through the mid-’60s.) Then he shows off a 1967 Jaguar S-Type, which he says drives as well as some modern luxury sedans.
Holley’s vintage race car is a 1963 Jaguar E-Type. This particular E-Type was a racecar its entire life, which meant Holley’s rebuilt it from nose to tail during his six years of ownership. And, each winter, he disassembles the car in his shop to look for anything worn out by the stresses of racing.
Finally, Holley points out a 1969 Jaguar E-Type Coupe that matches his wife’s roadster. It’s one of his favorite cars to drive on the street. Thanks so much to Holley and Jaguar for a peek inside with an amazing collection of vintage jaguars.
