In The Market For A Quality Used Car? ConsIder Jaguar’s XE Sedan

Current Values place the Jaguar XE squarely in a buyer’s market. If you want a near-new Jaguar sedan, the XE is one to consider.

Luxury cars are wonderful things, aren’t they? They offer technology that is often years ahead of industry standards, performance that is excellent, and the prestige of a top brand name. Jaguar obviously fits this bill, but the one major pitfall that Jaguar and others always face is depreciation. But the silver lining of this depreciation is good news for a car shopper. They can get a Jaguar XE at a steep discount simply by letting the first owner take the main depreciation hit.

We found an XE over on the Jaguar Forums marketplace as a prime example. It’s an XE 35t with pretty much all options on it. List price? At current, $25,000. Original MSRP? Encroaching on $60,000. Yeah, XE’s are a hot buy right now.

The XE is a great car, too. Filling the void left by the X-Type, this entry-level sedan actually competes with the likes of the Mercedes C-class and BMW 3-series. According to Automobile Magazine‘s initial impressions, the 35t is going to pull sales from the Germans. That’s when it was new, and probably true as a pre-owned vehicle as well. Power will impress, with Jaguar’s 3.0 supercharged V6, making 340 horsepower. And it drives like a taught, sporty new Jaguar.

In an R-sport, you even get the awesome black and red two-tone seats, and all of the driver connectivity and comfort options you could ask for. All for more than half off of MSRP.

So you might be thinking about costs of ownership, and what it will set you back if you have to visit the dealership an issue. There’s peace of mind in the XE’s newness as well. Debuting in 2017, the newer and lower mileage examples are still under warranty. The one on our marketplace still has 10,000 miles of warranty left in it, for example. We’re probably preaching to the choir here, but with the F-Pace now the volume seller for Jaguar, the XE might get somewhat overlooked. That’s a shame because it is a car that those of us at Jaguar Forums universally admire.
