2004 Jaguar XJR is a Beautiful Bargain
With just a little bit of work, this high-performance Jaguar will be a tremendous machine at a great value.
Jaguars are special cars, and deserve special care and attention. If you’re looking to buy your next Jaguar, why not shop around on the Jaguar Forums Marketplace?
There, you’ll find special cars, owned and cared for by passionate enthusiasts. If you’re looking for something rare and unique, you’re likely to find it in our Marketplace. Even when the car is less than perfect, you’ll often get more detailed information from a fellow enthusiast than from your average sketchy used car dealer.
Consider this beautiful 2004 Jaguar XJR in Walnut Creek, California. It’s being sold by Zazzy, who’s been a Jaguar Forums member for almost six years now.
As the performance model of the XJ sedan, the XJR has a subtle, high-performance look to it. However, none of the XJR-specific visual cues distract from the beautiful, classic XJ shape. As a result, it’s one of our favorite Jaguars of all time, offering timeless good looks, traditional Jaguar luxury, and modern performance and comfort.
Even with 168,000 miles on the odometer, this ruby red XJR still looks stunning. We’re sure that the California climate and the owner’s tender loving care have contributed to its long-lasting good looks. Still, with such high mileage, you might be surprised to learn that the asking price is just $2,000.
Unfortunately, there are a few issues for the new owner to address. Despite a comprehensive cooling service just last year, there’s an intermittent “Low Coolant” light on the dash. Additionally, an intermittent “Check Engine” light may be caused by a vacuum leak.
After checking thinks out, Zazzy has more or less narrowed the issue down to the throttle body, which is a common issue on these cars as they age.Still, the car is said to drive fine regardless of these hiccups.
Unfortunately, a hit and run on the passenger side front fender has left Zazzy frustrated, and is part of the reason he wants to sell. We hope that the next owner spends a little bit of money fixing that car’s small issues and returning it to its former glory. The car certainly looks to be worth it.
