Range Rover Velar HST Edition

The details on the new Range Rover Velar HST trim just dropped — and it sounds like a fantastic edition to the stable.

Right now, the latest generation of Land Rover’s venerable Range Rover is still busy stunning the automotive press. Immediately after the wraps came off late last year, scribes far and wide have been drooling over the sleek new lines of the luxurious SUV, and now that they’re getting the chance to drive it, the praise has only increased. So if you were still curious about whether Land Rover got it right? Well, Land Rover got it right.

To capitalize on the warm reception, the company has just dropped details on the new Velar HST trim — which sounds like a fantastic edition to the stable. Power will come from the six-cylinder mild-hybrid Ingenium engine, which is good for 395 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. And while buyers won’t be able to option for the more robust twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8, the Velar HST includes a host of nifty options that’ll make the already appealing model even more attractive.

Those options start with an available Arroios Grey exterior paint which is available only on the Velar HST, and also includes 21-inch Gloss Black wheels. Even as someone who is a little sick of seeing silver cars, my gut says this distinct hue is really going to pop in the sun, and I can’t wait to see it in person. The black wheels will be complemented by a contrasting black roof, and if for some reason that doesn’t work for you, Land Rover says the Velar HST can be finished in any color from the company’s paint box.

The Velar HST is based on the R-Dynamic S model, and will feature Land Rover’s Electronic Air Suspension with Adaptive Dynamics, so in the event you want to make this upscale people mover hustle, the nannies will should help you keep it out of the ditch. Inside the cabin, the new trim will feature a Black Suedecloth headliner along with a panoramic sunroof that’s sure to make the already cavernous interior feel even larger. Enjoy the images, and if you end up taking delivery, please post some pics. I’m sure everyone here at Jaguar Forums would love to see this baby in natural light!
