LuvMyCat,
Not sure if you're following this post any more, but.......
I pulled my dash week before last and of course the center console assembly needed to come out, so I thought what the heck, radio isn't working well anyway.....
I opened up the radio case and exposed the volume dial and the circuit boards and sprayed lots of canned air to clear dust, followed that with electronic spray on the volume assembly and a touch of WD40 on the control shafts.
It works. The vehicle is a daily commuter, so I don't need an extensive system, radio is just fine. There is a very, very slight crackle, but just barely.
Overall it worked well.
