As the title states, I am looking to place this into my 2001 S-type. The only issue I have with electronics, is that they don't work seamlessly as they state (for me anyway).
What I mainly want to do is use Bluetooth for my phone calls, Satellite Radio (sirius/xm), and hook up my iPhone for music.
I would really like to hook up my iPhone 3GS for data purposes - ie: download a clip from CNBC/BNN and listen to it on my drive to work.
Of course - a nice clean install would help....
Thanks guys,

Yes - that is my dash.
I use an iPhone which has a navigation app on it, thus the reason for me not pursuing it - though will consider your recommendation.
Which pioneer unit specifically?
I just want to make the install as seemless as possible ( if possible ). Some electronic products seem not to complete all the tasks that are supposed to.
Main focal points are the sat net work, Data/video from the Iphone 3GS and Bluetooth capabilities.
Thanks for your help experienced ones.

if the sat network is a main goal, then you might want to research the limitations on the Clarion.
Pioneer IMO has the most functional addons, along with Kenwood. Alpine seems to be a little behind at this point, and they have had some issues lately, but still excellent all around.
www.pioneerelectronics.com and poke around there. Let me know the round-about price your getting the 709 for, and ill show you the others that do the same, if not more, things.

Bluetooth and IPOD built in, includes nav, and will do either XM or Sirius.
just as an option. 999 retail

found this online for about the same price, this would also work.

Price I am paying is $464.00 (USD)
I have a box in the states, so I just have american purchases sent there.
If the Pioneer unit has had good reviews with Jag S-Types, then I will go that route. I am just looking for a clean install 1st, not to complicated to set up, and lastly to work with iPhone (music/video), Bluetooth, and Sat radio.
Much thanks for the help.

so for under 70 dollars you can have nav too?? seems like a no brainer to me.... im not trying to push you either way, just looking at the features for the $$$$ aspect of it.
Im curious as to you questioning the IPHONE interface?? if you have the adpters for the iphone video out, the Pioneer does have the input

Here is a Kenwood 9140 in my 2002 S type Sport. Navigation, Bluetooth, all the audio types. Hooked up the Steering wheel controls. I don't use the I-Pod connections. Sirius/XM is an $addon.
This was a custom fit by me, took a while but looks good. Note the USB ports cut in where the seat heater buttons would reside and the black push button is for the voice recognition feature.
The only remaining item is connecting the back shelf subwoofer to the Kenwood which only has RCA type plugs.
