Hi guys. I'm thinkinng of adding on an alpine amp to my alpine premium system. I'm going to pull the stock subs and add something bigger. Anyhow, what should I use for the amp trigger wire? I will be using the speaker level inputs on the amp. The amp doesn't have auto sensing on. I was thinking of the alpine pdx 600, as I can get one for pretty cheap new and it's flexible between 2 and 4 ohm subs without loosing any power due to the higher impedance.
thanks!

wow, no responses? I think I may go to a crappy kenwood amp with an auto turn on. I can get one of those for about $75 used or $150 new that puts out about 600 w rms at 2 or 1 ohm (the 9043 sub amp). I'm just going to run one sub so I don't need that much power and all the add on stuff starts to get expensive. This seems like a really easy way to hook up an amp from a wiring standpoint.

I ended up buying a kenwood sub amp with speaker level ins and self sensing on. You just need to connect a power wire, ground wire and the speaker leads from the stock subs. This should make for a super quick, clean install being that the battery is in the trunk. I bought one that is rated at 900 w rms at 2 ohms, but realistically puts out 644 at 2 ohms as tested by car audio magazine. That's enough for my 1 12" sub...
