Default Can I pair my phone to standard audio?

I dont have any original manuals for my car.

I have a standard factory fitted alpine radio/cassette player in my X-type

There are two buttons, one with a telephone and one with just a phone handset. How do i set these up or use them? or are they for some sort of plugin telephone

Regards

They all have the telephone buttons but only a small number of any Jaguar models are fitted with either the early fixed telephone or later Bluetooth equipment. It was a very expensive option.

The easiest way to check is the try to put the Audio/Bluetooth into 'discovery' mode'

1. set you phone to discoverable
2. use the keypad to enter code ##3#*#
3. press Send/End.

If you have Bluetooth fitted, it will attempt to pair with your phone. If not, nothing will happen.

Enter the code on the radio. Here's the generic Bluetooth 'Getting Started' guide for XJ, XK, X-Type and S-Type:

Nothing is happening, I press the telephone button and all i get is message on screen saying NO PHONE, type in the code and it just changes the CD because i've pressed the number 3.

I have been on Jags bluetooth compatibility site, put in the last 6 digits of my vin and it looks like it should work as it doesnt say it wont

It means you don't have the phone option fitted in your car.
