CD changer problem Pls help!
Hi,
I need some help with my cd changer.
I have a six disc jaguar cd changer and for some reason it is not working.
I took it to circuit city and the guy said that the cd changer wasn't loading
and reading the discs. Has this happened to anyone before?
Also, since I have the premium sound package made by alpine could I replace
the OEM jaguar cd changer with an aftermarket alpine cd hanger? And if so does anyone know a compatible alpine?
Any suggestions would help!
Thanks,
Jim

RE: CD changer problem Pls help!
I had a similar problem with my changer. I purchased a new Alpine however, even though the plug was the same, the wiring was not. I then purchased one from Coventry West. It works great. The downside is that it was about $225-$250 for a used one. I have since discovered Ebay. If you pull the part # from your changer, you may be able to locate one on Ebay. I have purchased several Jaguar items there. Best of luck..

He is saying you can't get past the wiring difference (and the communication protocols hardwired into both the Jag changer and receiver) It may say alpine, but you can't swap one for the other, sorry. Replacing with another Alpine changer made for Jag is the only way to fix your situation.
