Default Factory under seat speakers blown

Well after 21 years my VDP finally blew both rear speakers. Now I am in the market for just those two speakers and ran across a set of Alpine SPS-510 under 80 bucks. I think they will fit as they are 5.25". Does anyone have any reviews of them? I looked online and the only ones are on Crutchfield and they were good. I want to stay as stock as possible but get a bit better sound. I DON"T WANT TO DO AN AMP or a head unit. I am digging the retro look.

In any case any input would be awesome.

No input, but if 2 blown speakers are your biggest problem ...

well I bit the bullet and went to the local ghetto stereo shop and got the speakers. They were running a deal buy 1 pair at 89 get the second set at 40. so I did.

The speakers are the right size width wise. The depth was pretty good as well but the Magnet and small capacitor were too big to fit into the plastic housing that held the old speakers. Once I took them out it did fit although pretty tight quarters in there. I didn't want to cut the metal hole any bigger so for now that will have to work. Oh and the plastic housing was what held the grill together so no grills as of now.

Any thoughts? I was thinking that if I had some spacers I could have the speaker out from the hole but I would also have to build a box to make that sound right plus that really wouldn't look stock.

All in all though the speakers worked well with the stock system. Sound good, Didn't loose any bass response and mids and highs are definitely better.

The speakers for those interested was Alpine 510s 5.25's

Go back to the store and see if they have any speaker mounting rings for that size. They are commonly used for moving the speaker further out when mounting aftermarket speakers.
