Purchase either Garmin GTM 10 or GTM 12. There is a nominal fee of $60/year for the service itself.
You would be better off buying them off of Ebay as opposed to Garmin
Here are a few links about it:

Between my boy and I got my Pioneer Avic-Z2 installed. I bought the harness from crutchfield.com. Not that bad. Now I need a custom stereo kit because there is some gaps not that big of a deal. Anybody knows of a place. I'll post pics soon.
ORIGINAL: 03 S Type
what type of prices did everyone else pay for installation?

HI THERE 03 S type, I'm going to post a little at a time because I noticed if you write a lot it will act weird. To my experience Double Din's with built in Navigatoin/DVD/CD/MP3 etc are running between $700-$2000 depending on the model and if or if not has a built in hard drive.

I went with avic-z2 model. A friend of mine and I installed it ourselfs and it wasn't easy as I thought it would be. Look at posting number # 3 stdjrm17 has pictures of his Pioneer avic-d3. You might want to ask him how much it cost him to install cause he took his to a shop.

Install shouldn't be that bad...for the 03 and newer s-type's metra makes a dash kit to replace the head unit. You can get metra stuff from circuit city but they won't have it in stock. The part number is 99-9500 but it is silver in color. Once you have the dash kit, wiring harness and antenna adapter the install should be easy. Getting everything to match up alignment wise may be a bit tricky though.
Bigdreams05 has a single din flip out unit in his s-type and the 02 newer s-types use a regular ford wiring harness but I don't know the specifics on that.
IMO I've been turned off from the whole double din with navigation, personally I'd rather buy a unit from the store and have it separate with the ability to take it to a different car. If I were to get any unit it would be the avicd3 because of the amount of features it has but navigation truly sucks whether it be a magellan/tom tom/garmin let alone it being installed in the unit. My father in laws magellan is brand new and is messed up pretty bad. The thing is terrible and had us going in the complete wrong direction home when they were picking me up from the airport.

I would never buy an AVIC. The Kenwood's Garmin based system is stellar since it runs constantly even with the DVD drive empty or full. It's based in flash memory.
I do like the USB drive functionality of the Kenwoods since you have limitless storage for MP3.

Cosworth,
Thanks for the heads up on the accessability. I'm looking into a Kenwood now actually. I'm just weary about trying to figure out the install etc. since I don't think I could put mhyself through the trouble of doing it myself. [:-]

Hey 03 no matter what one you do don't fear! The hardest part would be getting the antenna for the gps up and running. Otherwise the rest is easy! What color dash do you have I assume it is silver as I think that's when they changed the dash color to silver not black? The dash kit they have is silver in color and looks like this. More than likely your harness is the same as what is pictured from my x-type...
