It looks like the majority of the differences between the .1 and the .2 are in the adjustment of the EQ bands, both in the highs, mids and sub control, and the crossover adjustments.

See here.

Its better than most decks however, for sure.

Default Good sound in the front

If found that the front 3 -way system can be replaced by a High end DLS Ultimate Iridium 6.3 Speakerset.

-The mids are 2 inch domes and can be fitted in the original space under the windscreen. Lose the DLS grilles and carefully mount them without the grilles under the Jaguar grilles. This is one of the few mids that will fit here. Others 3 way sets use 4 inch mids which are way to big.

-The tweeters can replace the originals. Remove the cloth and tweeters. hot glue the DLS tweeters to the triangle (angle to the listener). Use speaker cloth over the whole triangle (sew at the back).

-Woofers will fit the original location.

The woofers can be attached to the original wires. It is best to put a more powerfull amplifier in between using the speakerlevel as input.

There is a catch. The original tweeter and mid are attached to the same wire/amp channel. The DLS 3-way filters are pretty big. If you mount them in the back you need to run an extra set of wires to e.g. the mids. You can set jumpers on the filters so it knows you're not using the woofers via the filter.

Tip/suggestion: Feed the signal from the front woofers via an external Amplifier to the orignal subs in the back panel as well (beef up the midbass). Feed the signal from the subwoofers into a very powerful amplifier and use it to feed one or two 10 or 12 inch subwoofer(s) in the trunk.

its close, but if you don't put too large of ring/spacer on the new subwoofer, it won't hit the cover. You can form the tabs and cover so that it isn't so flat also, which will help if you do end up with enough cone movement, which isn't likely from a 6 or 6.5-inch subwoofer.

Octaaf, just dismantle the frequency filter and solder the components close to the speakers. At least that was what i did wit the JBL compo set
