Mike...Sorry, I did not notice your post count...you need 10 posts to send or receive PM, as well as get access to downloads. Just welcome a few new members in the new member section of the forum and you will be there.

Alternatively, post your email address, and once I get it I will ask a moderator to remove it.

Also, do you have a newer iPod with Bluetooth? If so, you may want to consider a wireless device, like the Parrot MK1i9100. You can also get handsfree phone if you go this way.

I've fitted the S-type version to my X350 myself and it works flawlessly on USB and Aux-in, I don't have an ipod so can't vouch for that side. The sound quality is excellent - far better then any FM modulator will give you.

I posted a thread on the UK Jag forum covering my install, here's a link Jaguar Forum.co.uk • View topic - I've just installed an ACM ! This is how!

Default ACM CSC40513 / 06 S-Type Purchase & Install

I am about to purchase my ACM but would like to know if anyone has any type of drawing/photos that shows how to install this device? Its my understanding based on the attached brochure P15, that all I need to do is plug in the device to the wiring harness in my center console.

This seems tooooo simple............

Appreciate any feedback you might offer.

Thanks

LOL - Damn right it's too simple, the brochure says the USB & ipod connection are in the centre armrest, that does not mean it just plugs in there - oh boy are you in for a surprise!

OK - It's not hard to self install, and instructions are supplied with the kit, in a nutshell, you'll be removing the entire centre console, and the head unit, to plug the business end of the module into the power supply to the head unit and the D2B fibre optic network that connects all the nav/entertainment components, you'll have to drill a hole in the bottom of that cubby hole in your centre armrest to route the ipod connector/USB/RCA inputs in there.
It sounds a lot scarier than it actually is, but it does take a little effort.

Here's a link to my install on the UK Jag forum - Jaguar Forum.co.uk • View topic - I've just installed an ACM ! This is how!

It on my XJ, but an S-type or X-type will be very similar

It's not quite as easy as that......but it's not too bad. The kit number you listed is the successor to the one in the attachment, just newer software.

Heer you go!

Cheers,

You can get an ACM here for $420 -

Jaguar | XJ Parts | AUDIO CONNECTIVITY MODULE

I just put one in my 2004 XJR and had no problems at all.

Hey everyone....gave up on the logical cost/product offered by Jaguar and had a Kenwood radio installed with blue tooth (cell phone) / aux, for less than $300. Could not see paying over $400 w/installation to install the ACM in my 06 S Type.....Looks nice and sounds great....

I found this good outline of what is needed to get the ACM to work and limitations my question comes off this.

He says that the CD changer needs to be enabled. Does that mean you can only have the ACM or the CD changer? I already have a CD changer and would like to keep it.

The ACM does mimic the CDC as far as the head unit is concerned, you don't lose the CDC tho' - the ACM has a selector switch so you can choose the ACM or the CDC to be the active device.

The only inconvenience is that you have to turn the ignition off to change from CDC to AUX. Then again, you have to get out and go around the the trunk to change CDs in the changer too.
