I just joined the forum and have a 66 3.8S, which after almost 20 years sitting in the garage at home I have just started work on. Starting from the front and working back the first job is to get the brakes sorted out. I am going to try and do a XJ6 series 1 converson on them. Then it should just be a fair bit of tidying up and we should be on the road again. The body is almost perfect, but the interior needs some work.

Hullo Pythons, thats what I was told, but I believe you can get them repaired, try contacting JagSpares on 03 9870 0542 for the parts. Also check the UK jag forum. jaguar forum.co.uk

Good luck. Jim

It's a tidy looking car, Michael. I imagine that the 307 is a bit of a performance boost over the old 4.2!

What XF did you go for Shanncon? Diesel, petrol, supercharged V8?

I opted for the 3 litre supercharged engine. I wanted the 3 litre diesel since I've got a 3 litre diesel Mercedes and am rapt with the performance. However, Jaguar talked me out of it due to my low annual mileage, claiming I would have problems with the DPF.

I was extremely satisfied with my test drive, particularly when the car was put in "sport" mode. The engine suddenly became alive!

Hi all

I joined the forum about 3 months ago, saying I was saving for my first Jag. I have been busy test driving every one that I could find but they all seemed to have something wrong with them. I decided to look at one last car and the moment I saw it I knew it was the one. I think it chose me actually.

I ended up buying a gold colour 1997 LWB 3.2 X300. All the electrical toys work, he has overhauled the aircon and heater, and it has the Premium sound system (which I will be ripping out) and the lovely wood steering wheel and a Daimler grille. Also has the motorized steering wheel and he still has the remote control, unlike the other cars I looked at. Drives very nicely with none of the issues the other cars had.

I pick it up next Sunday from Auckland, the owner was kind enough to hold it for me for 2 weeks while I get the last of the cash together.

P.S. my Camry is off to the wreckers tomorrow :-)

Hello all as well,

Walked into my fathers workshop one day and saw a stunning black X-Type with red half leather interior in manual!! So lovely I just wanted it....lucky I found out it was up for sale!!!

Needless to say I bought it a week later and definitely have not regretted it for over a year. Been upgrading it ever since to become my perfect car. Used to love Japanese tuners, now I love Jags

Hi Dave,
I am Tony from Belrose NSW and I am on my second Jag and cannot see myself changing. I had an maroon X Type 2.1 litre 2003 model and absolutely loved it so much, I put it in on the bigger XJ8 X350 3.5 litre. It is a dark grey/charcoal coloiur with the creamy leather interior. I am absolutely sold on it and just love giving it a run. Love to hear from anyone with a similar vehicle. Thanks for creating this thread.
