I had a 351 Clevo in an XD Fairmont Ghia, awesome engine it was, threw a heap of coin at it. You could stick it in 4th at 40km/h and it would pull all the way to redline, seemed to accellerate just as fast as going through the gears. Wish I hadn't sold it now, they have tripled in value in the last 15 years...

BTW that two-tone XJ6 posted earlier is still for sale, i'm starting to have irresponsible thoughts...LOL

This will have to be the cheapest XKR in the country!
06/98, Jaguar, XKR, Coupe - Pickles Auctions Australia
It's not on the written off vehicle register either, just a slight issue of the passengers door being in the boot...

Jaguar Australia is selling thier XFR-S demonstrator, it's on carsales.com.au, for only $220K
2013 Jaguar XF X250 XFR-S MY14 Sports Automatic
A "gentle 11'000kms only", LOL it's been airborne at Targa Adelaide, punted around Wakefield Park, and thrashed by just about every motoring journalist in the country...
I can't find the pic of it with all four wheels off the ground, but it's out there somewhere...LOL
EDIT
Found it
one owner, only driven to church on sundays...

I know the perfect guy to repair it
He's a retired engineer and he repairs cars for a hobby I have bought 4 cars of him in the last 8 months
2 of my mates are ex RACQ guys retired after 30 years neither of them could pick where he had repaired them
Might be worth a look pity I'm married
I am already getting flack for having 4 cars and 6 motorbikes and a scooter (LOL)

Delicious (but affordable) Daimlers
Stumbled across these in the sub $5000 range on Gumtree. Not perhaps the most popular model shape, but each with an air of unique classic British "motor" ... or is it just me that is a sucker for those magnificent fluted chrome grille frames?
The second, from the west, is an aptly named Majestic, and if it lives up to description, would be an elegant drive. But my money would chase the first, an SA car. At $4500, this Daimler looks straight and very clean with first rate interior ... on top of which, it includes a sister ship as a spare parts donor. Note the seller comment that the first 3 of his pics are of the Daimler, and the final 3 are of the donor. That's two cars for less than the price of a set of new E Type wheels!!!
So tempted ... but so thankful; so very, very thankful that we are not selling our magnificent V12 Daimler VanDenPlas today at these bargain basement prices!
Cheers,
Ken

Hi all, I have a Solent Blue '91 XJ40 Daimler with Saville grey interior and love it. The XJ40 seems to be considered the last of the classics before Ford started changing thing's, they were designed before the Ford take over but didn't go into production till after it.
Concerning the maroon Daimler "Majestic" advertised, I'm quite dubious as to whether it is a Majestic. As far I know the Majestic's are quite rare and were only made by special order for VIP's like the British prime minister. They have the highest level of trim like doe skin leather seats with contrast coloured piping. They have a Majestic badge on the rear to the right of the number plate and Majestic engraved on the lower right of the glove box and picnic trays in the rear. The biggest difference however between a Majestic and a standard Daimler is the Majestic is extended by 300mm giving extra leg room in the rear, (like they really need it) this is very noticeable with the extra long rear doors. The modification was done by British Aerospace and they fit an extra compliance plate in the engine bay confirming the legality of the mod. I'm also pretty sure they were only made in '93 and '94.
Only researching the VIN number will determine if it really is a Majestic but the one advertised to me looks like a standard Daimler.
This is just my 2 cents worth and I'm not having a dig at the owner as it looks like a very good car for the money.
Troy.

It had been touched right at the A pillar, & there was a dent in the front guard and the front of the passenger door. The panel shop had unbolted the door to have a closer look at the dent on the guard, and didn't bother bolting it back on. It sold at auction for only $16.5K, there was bugger-all wrong with the car!

Anyone got $2,000 to kick start a project?
Hello guys ... anyone awake out there?
Another unrevealed reason I am so disappointed not to be catching up with Cambo and all you Sydney-siders (and my rels) this weekend, was my intention to catch this little beauty I have been lurking around.
1978 Jaguar XJS Coupe @ Penrith - $2600 negotiable
Not going to happen now ... so please someone ... check it out. I know it's got some surface rust issues, but nothing gross, and potentially at a $2K price that would make an ideal project car.
My loss. Please make it someone else's gain. ATB,
Ken

This looks like one that was on Gumtree a couple of months back but when I rang about it it was sold.
Jaguar XJS V12 Coupe Unfinished Project | eBay
I had a bid because it has all of the parts needed to finish mine off but I just spent $400 on half of the parts that I needed. Pity it was not listed 4 weeks earlier but thems the breaks.

XJS in post #56 sold!
OK fellas ... own up now. Who was the lucky winner.
I have been lurking on the midnight blue 1978 XJS for 6-8 weeks, and after change in our priorities, posting on this thread saw it snapped up in 3 days.
As I said earlier, my pain ... someone's gain. Not perfect ... in fact a good challenge ... but sound basis for the project I had in mind.
Pls just reassure me that this thread really achieves something tangible by announcing some happy news that one of our members gained! There is always another great Jaguar waiting for me ... but share the joy ... reassure us that someone here was the winner on this one.
Best wishes,
Ken
