Default Jag specialist Mechanics and Auto Elec in Sydney?

hey guys,
New here, just got my 95 Sov the other day.
already love it.
there are some issues that i am sure i will find more of as time goes on,
issues like drivers seat controls not working, therefore can't even check if memory does not work,
not sure that cruise control is working, don't think the steering wheel adjustment works
remote not working, etc.

nothing major overall the car seems to drive beautifully and the problems it has seem to be mostly aging electrical problems.

so my query is regarding recommendations in Sydney for mechanics and auto elecs that really know these cars.
lets say i get a replacement seat, and then find all the memory functions and the steering wheel adjustments don't work,
where would be a great place to go to find the right person to diagnose and fix these kind of issues?

i am located not far from Parramatta so western/south Western Sydney is perfect but hey, will travel for the right mechanic.

Hi Matt, I use a mechanic out at Arcadia which is near Dural….he’s great with my series 2 but I’m not sure about the X300.
I can give you his details if you want to call him and have a chat…Someone may chime in with a closer mechanic.

Yeah Arcadia is a little out of the way, closer would always be better, but hey, nothing is too far to travel for the right person.
Maybe its too far to go for a regular mechanic, but certainly not too far to go for a visit and sus out everything.
Get my head around everything that is wrong and maybe how to go about fixing things.

Would be well worth seeing the right person at the very least to give the car a once over so i know what is going on under the kitties hood. Better to see the right person that knows the cars and get jobs done right and get things answered properly.
If you go to the wrong mechanic you may well get told "can't fix it" kind of thing.

Thanks for that.
Will have a good look and play around on my Kitty on the weekend and try and learn/familiarise myself and then get in touch.

would also ask about any idea as to good wreckers but i assume Jag Works at Penrith is the place? Spoke to Bruce today
would be nice to know of other good options

Just a follow up on this thread. I used the searches and this thread to try and find my own "local" jag. I tried ringing Shaun towards the end of last year, he tried to be very helpful but was up front with me and explained he wasn't really interested in doing service work on my X300. He went as far as looking over the car as a once over for me as a general checkup for the sake of it, we had a bit of chat about some of his rally car stuff and he pointed me to sng barratt for looking for parts but that was the end of it. Now that Dr Jag in Dural has shut up shop, I'm still on the look for an independent. I will probably ring Tony Arditto in next few days as that seems the next closest to me here around Hornsby.

Yes it’s a shame Greg Parsons (Dr Jag) has retired….I’ve heard good reports about Tony …let us know how you go.

I spoke to Tony once, and he seemed like a pretty decent bloke nice enough and helpful, however,
at the time I needed the front crank seal in my X300 done and he was not really interested in doing that job.
so still not sure how he is with actually working on cars
ended up getting that done at Dr Jag.

I used Peter at Just Jags Marrickville for a TPS reset as he was one of the only I could find with a system to do it, and he seemed really good. mot done anything else since.

I am going to have to decide where to go soon as I want to get my car fully checked over and and get a bit of a condition report.

Matt, I have also used Peter at JustJags on my series 2….did a good job but a long way to Dulwich Hill from Dural. If you find someone else keep us in the loop.

I had the opposite experience. My 2001 XJR blew a head gasket, Dr Jag (my then mechanic) wouldn't take it on, however, Anthony did. He seems to do everything from E Type rebuilds to oil changes. I highly recommend him.
