NSW&ACT Suppliers of Spare Parts and/or Services
Hello all. Purpose of this thread is to assemble a list of Suppliers of Spare Parts and/or Services, as used and recommended by members in this State. Please refer to similar posts initiated by [yarpos] in Victoria and [o1xjr] in Queensland, with SA&NT to follow.
Here are a few suggestions to keep the thread tidy, to the point, and easy to read.
For this to work for everyone's benefit, we need your contributions … and keep 'em coming!
Here are a few suggestions to keep the thread tidy, to the point, and easy to read.
- title to contain type of service … and city (eg Auto Electrician in Ryde, Sydney);
- then list full name of supplier, person if known (eg Zap Electrical P/L, see Barry);
- location or other contact details … and finally, a hotlink if available.
- this is about raw data that members can access at their discretion, quickly and easily … rather than discussion.
- either send private message (PM) to poster;
- start new thread, or …
- contact the listed supplier.
- do so briefly, but save detailed explanations and/or discussion (as others may wish to chip in with their experiences) ... open a new thread rather than post here.
For this to work for everyone's benefit, we need your contributions … and keep 'em coming!

Top tip for ... Batteries and Smart Chargers
Hello all,
Perhaps you have seen our write-up Battery 101 for S-Types with supplement on the latest generation of smart chargers. If not, you may be interested in reading for full details and links ...
Battery World (branches across NSW&ACT) for top class VARTA Silver Series batteries as fitted to 2000 to present Jaguars (and all NSW Ambulances). I think most branches operate as franchises, but mention your Jaguar Forums membership for a further discount on normal prices. I did at Coffs Harbour, and it was offered readily ... along with second to none diagnostic services and advice.
Jaycar Electronics (numerous branches and agencies) offer the Powertech Plus range of smart chargers; now at recently discounted prices. Our write-up provides links to relevant Features and Ops Manual.
This gotta help someone other than just me,
Ken

No-one left in Sydney? Canberra?
Hello everyone. Surely, not ALL the dealers/suppliers/service shops/independents in Sydney have quit and gone bush?
Using the example of Steve [Yarpos] down in VIC, we COULD roll up our sleeves and make this thread a valuable resource, not only for locals, whether new members or old, but also for visitors from interstate. How about it? Takes but a minute to post up details.
Your favourite dealership or service agent ... Sydney? Canberra?
Jaguar specialist workshops? Who? Where?
Recommended independents?
Jaguar spare parts suppliers?
Your tip for top auto electricians? Tyres?
Just remember; you're not signing a blank check when you recommend someone here. Sure the next person along may not have an equal experience ... but odds are ... if you received good service at fair prices ... they will too. Other members benefit; the business firm benefits; then so do you next time you use them because, their wider client/vehicle and knowledge base adds to their skills also.
C'mon . . . be a sharer,
Ken

Reputable Jaguar specialiast in Hornsby area?
OK guys . . . I need serious help for one of our members . . . and I need it asap coz he is a fine young fella who needs suspension bushes replaced, wheel sensors to be checked etc.
Hornsby is my former patch, but a long way from my home of past 8 years in the Coffs Coast and now Coffs Harbour city. I know of a Jaguar specialist independent nearby . . . Parsons of Annangrove . . . anyone had any experience of them? Good? Bad? Fair in price? This young fella has the priority of his HSC exams facing him over coming weeks, and as a young enthusiast who can't afford to be hit for any unnecessary parts or unwarranted labour, let's do a bit of good honest brokerage to ensure his enthusiasm as a newer member of JF is rewarded.
Happy for you to PM me or [Brahlinski] direct.

Alto Jaguar St Leonards Sydney
I had a major problem diagnosed and repaired after two Independent Jaguar workshops failed.
The cost was less than the Independents and they failed to fix it.
In future, I believe I will be taking my Jag back to Alto where they have the experience and expertise to fix it.

An update on tyre supplier
I simply can't overlook this recommendation for a great supplier of tyres in Sydney - Tempe Tyres - who advertise online.
High performance tyres (eg Pirelli Pzero, Continental or Kumho Ecsta) for late Jaguars can be be quite expensive, but this firm quoted me prices for both my cars that were around 50% of RRP. On the S-Type, the full set of 5 Kumho 245/40R18s cost around $800 the lot. For the 20" R spec rears on my XK, I paid less than $700/pr for Pzero rather than $700 each!
Doing so much business online, their handling of my needs was quick and painless, charging me $15 per tyre for freight to my door (Inverell, NSW). Local firm charged me $25 each for R&R, balance, etc - which on the XKR "no tyre valve" but lotsa locknuts and nut covers, makes fitting tyres to these very wide BBS wheels a painstaking effort.
Remember to check load and speed ratings (eg 97Y) and also manufacturing dates, as some discounters do so on older tyres that are approaching their use by date. Mine were 2015 manufacture which turned out to be more recent than local suppliers could deliver.
But wait, there's more . . . if you purchase online but arrange pickup/fitting/balancing etc at Tempe Tyres physical location in Sydney, then their tyre prices fully include all that fitting and balancing as well!
Good rep around here, and proud of their business awards - so worth a look, eh?
Cheers,

Jaguar specialists.
Ive been recommended by a Melbourne specialist to Graeme Lord....Maintaining Legends..
Graeme has been servicing Jags basically all his working life and his head mechanic has been with him 26 years. the other mechanic is just beginning.... only 13 years with him.
address is 37 Kingsford street, Fairy Meadow (Wollongong) NSW 2519 .
(02) 4283 6076
Graeme and his team can do anything from a basic service to a complete restoration of any model Jag ...he has several E types under restoration at the moment.
He is about to do all the suspension rubbers on my xkr. I am very impressed with his intimate knowledge and enthusiasm for all things Jaguar.
