A friend of mine who lives on the western side of Lake Macquarie has come across a dismantled S1 XJ12 in an automotive workshop nearby. The car was owned by the previous business owner and now the present owner wants the car gone. Is anyone interested, if so get back to me and I’ll get the details.
Here are a few pix and I can probably organise a few inside shots if you need them. From the looks of these pix though it looks like the car is completely in bits or at least the engine is and the transmission is out.

My friend is going around to the workshop next week and will take some inside pix and discuss the asking price. I don’t think that this car will be advertised but I’ll PM you or post the details when I have them.
I rode my motorcycle 250km to view this car today. The last registration sticker indicates that the car has been sitting there since 1991. I spoke to the owner by phone and he confirmed this. All the parts are supposedly there, but jumbled up in many boxes. The hard part will be to move the car as the front subframe is out ( second photo) and missing the RH wishbones.
I have made an offer to owner and proposed that I will remove it in stages. Stage 1 will be to take all the loose parts away and try to assemble a front end. Stage 2 will be to return with this front end, fit it to the car and roll the car onto a trailer.
The V12 engine looks like a write off. All conrods are seized on the gudgeon pins and the rods are rusty. The body is straight but not as good as I first thought. There is rust in the RH wheel arch, the LH quarter has been repaired at some time. The sills are damaged. Doors and front end look good. The interior is fabric - the leather is not there and the original carpet was renewed at some stage - the replacement is not good. The only significant parts remaining on the car are the rear end and the dashboard. What a puzzle!
I wish I had the patience, room, money to take on a project like this and that's where you save a lot of money if you can do it your self or with the help of friends. I am sure the car will look great once restored and all I can say is that I respect anyone that takes on a project like this and ends up with a car that stands out. All the best and please keep the photos coming as the work progresses Love to see what and when you do each step along your journey.
